VENUE: PUERTA PARAÍSO HOTEL BOUTIQUE, ZIHUATANEJO

Zihuatanejo woke in color the kind that sneaks in before the sun clears the palms and paints the air from the inside. Puerta Paraíso sits low and close to the sea, stone still cool at dawn, the Pacific laying down its steady hush like a metronome. From the first minute I could feel how fluid they were together Michelle and Bryan moved like a sentence that already knew its ending.

She’s a redhead, luminous in that coastal light; the window made a halo of loose strands while her stylist eased everything into place and then wisely stopped. The dress said elegant without ever raising its voice. He dressed a room away, calm and visibly happy hands that kept finding each other, shoulders that forgot to be tense. When someone said her name through the wall, he smiled like the day had finally caught up.

The florals were a riot in the best way extraordinary color dialed to joy: saturated corals, citrus, fuchsia, green that felt alive. Against the hotel’s cream stone and the blue of the water, they didn’t shout; they sang. The ceremony faced the ocean; guests tucked into shade, salt lifted on the breeze, and the arch trembled with petals when the wind passed. Vows were bright and quick and full of the exact kind of excitement that belongs to days like this. The kiss didn’t perform. It landed and stayed.

We walked the shoreline for portraits while the tide tested our ankles. Her hair light up at the edges where the sun touched it; his laugh gave me half my frames. I let them move and then asked for stillness only when the horizon made a clean line behind them. There’s a photograph where her bouquet blurs mid-swing and his hand finds the small of her back everything about it is movement and certainty at once.

Night fell warm and easy. Tables bloomed in color beneath candlelight; glassware kept small galaxies. The speeches were joyful and quick, the dance floor a soft invitation they accepted without thinking. My team and I worked with that buoyant feeling that tells you the day is doing half the composing. We had fun really fun the kind that follows you back to your room and hums while you pack batteries.

For the last frame I placed them at the edge of the terrace where the pool mirrors the sky. “Hold,” I said, and they did foreheads close, her hair lifting just enough to catch a flame of light, his palm warm through silk. Click. Behind them, the Pacific kept its rhythm. In front of them, color lingered longer than it should have, as if the day wanted one more minute to say their names.
